Main Roles and Responsibilities Performing chemical and microbiological analysis of food samples Microbiological analysis of water samples according to the Food and Food Standards Act (CAP 15:04) Offering quality control services to industry and technical information to clients on food composition, quality and legislation governing the quality and safety of food according to ISO 17025 Working with Doctors and Law enforcements in specimen preparation of general viscera (human specimen) for analysis. Analysing of detergents, cosmetics and paints for compliance with the Hazardous Substances and Articles (paints) Regulations, 1979 and the British act. Testing of potable water samples to determine their suitability for human consumption according to World Health Organization (WHO) Guidelines (2008) for Drinking Water Quality Testing of effluent and waste water to determine their suitability discharge into public water ways for pollution control and its conformity to Effluent and Waste Water Standards Regulation (2000) Analysing of water for chemical oxygen demand (COD), biological oxygen demand (BOD), pH, chloride, elements (copper, zinc, iron, magnesium, sodium, lead, and manganese), sulphates, nitrates, conductivity, total and lime hardness Analysing of samples for other departments using analytical equipment such as HPLC, UV/Vis, GCMS(D), ICPMS and AAS

Main Roles and Responsibilities Ensuring the adherence to Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, Food Safety, Quality Management Systems requirements and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) in accordance to ISO 45001:2018 Investigating accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future. Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations. Implementing the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and other prerequisites programs to ensure a safe production environment Maintain or update emergency response plans or procedures Collect samples of hazardous materials or arrange for sample collection. Analysing product quality to ensure adherence to food standards Conduct audits at hazardous waste sites or industrial sites and participate in hazardous waste site investigations.
