Providing support to the General Manager (GM) by implementing the financial strategy and coordinating all the activities of the finance department, including but not limited to preparation of management accounts, preparation of quarterly, half year and annual financial statements, funding, tax, treasury and risk management, budgets/forecasts and budgetary control, performance management, investments and refurbishment management, supervision and training of accounting staff.

Based at the Kingdom Hotel, I was responsible for the hotel financial operations. My roles included: • Manage, review and deliver accurate hotel profit & loss accounts, including key variances and commentaries for all hotel businesses in line with monthly corporate timetable. Key deadlines always met. • Monitor the hotel financial policies and procedures in liaison with head office. • Cash management in compliance with established procedures including petty cash management to allow internally funded refurbishment of the product. • Eliminating inter-company transactions with the other 11 business units in the group and head office. • Manage purchases and authorise purchase orders in line with the levels of business. • Hotel treasury and revenue management, fixed asset register maintenance and other duties of a financial and administrative nature. • Maintaining the nominal ledger • Create annual budget with input from heads of departments and present to the board, continuous business forecasts quarterly. • Internal and external audit facilitation. • Implement and maintain a sound system of internal controls to address possible risks and safeguard the assets. • Lead, coach and develop the finance team of 15 staff members to ensure correct levels of skills and expertise are deployed
