Position : People Operations Officer

The main purpose of the People Operations Officer is to support, coach and empower people to grow and be effective participants in their teams and the company in general. Following the company’s framework and ambitions around people growth and engagement, the People Operations officer acts as an accountability partner for all employees on an individual level. This position is focused on maximising the value of employees through an approach where Water Access Rwanda invests first in the employee.

Responsibilities:

•    Implements and keeps up to date the company’s people strategy
•    Provide excellent onboarding for new employees, hand holding as needed to ensure a smooth landing and preparation for work responsibilities. 
•    Manages the employee journey through different growth stages 
•    Regularly checks in with employees on their progress to achieve their scorecards and outputs. 
•    Supports in addressing obstacles through coaching. 
•    Tracks and analyses metrics around employee value, productivity and potential. 
•    Consults with management and executives to provide people inputs in strategic decisions. 
•    Pro-actively create new systems and programs to improve work 
•    Encourage goal-based reward systems that encourage key competencies of initiative, resourcefulness, dependability and commitment to delivery. 
•    Keeps a professional development plan for eac employee and mandate compliance.
•    Initiates and manages performance improvement plans as needed and in consultation with direct supervisors.
•    Manage compliance with local laws and regulations that deal with Labour.

Benefits:

Pay Range Will depend on the level of the successful candidate 

Officer Level – Gross Salary RWF226,348 + Transport RWF128,571 + other allowances : RWF 45,000
Net of  325,000 After deduction of PAYE and RSSB Contributions, before CBHI

Sr. Officer Level - Gross Salary RWF479,729 + Transport RWF142,857 + other allowances : RWF 60,000
Net of  460,000 After deduction of PAYE and RSSB Contributions, before CBHI.

More junior levels start with an apprenticeship.

Required profile for job ad : People Operations Officer
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish strong relationships at all levels and across functions
  • Passionate about people development
  • Knowledge and experience on coaching and mentorship to instigate growth Ability to assess people’s capacity to identify strengths and gaps
  • Experience building, maintaining and presenting HR data analytics
  • High emotional and social intelligence with experience fostering positive, strong relationships with diverse groups of people
  • Bachelor’s degree in any related/unrelated field.
  • At least 2 year experience in HR or Administrative Role at a high growth venture 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate a high level of professionalism and relatability at multiple levels in the company.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented; you can handle multiple projects and dynamic priorities without missing a beat
  • Passionate about people and how they function together to create a valuable organisation
  • Love of games and insights on how games can create teachable moments.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive information with discretion.
  • Language: Required: Kinyarwanda, English
  • Good to have: French, Kiswahili
